Surprise!  We are now the Vintage Barn Chics!!

I (Jenny) set up this blog on a whim, for my sister in law, Joy, the Joy behind joysjunque4sale, so she could enter a contest!  Well she didn't win the contest, but she still wanted to blog. Her vision for the blog was that  one of her super cool and talented sisters, Hope would also blog with her and share the great things that she does. And joysjunque4sale wasn't vey inclusive.  So here we are with a new name!

Hope is a home schooling mama of four precious children, 9, 6, 4 and 2 with another one on the way. She has an awesome style and a great vision for the potential of the piece!  Her house is full of her gorgeous work from vintage windows- to burlap wreaths- to her children's beautiful bedrooms (amazingly done for almost free!)

Here is a preview of some projects to showcase Hope's talent.

Harriet the buffet

My second buffet ever and how I loved her. She was done in my homemade chalk paint in the palest gray. Then I gave her a wash in mms grain sack.  She then got distressed antique waxed and dark waxed and buffed to a smooth sheen. Her drawers were lined with vintage music sheets and her top was also done in music sheets. $225.00
Check out the party at The Flying C! It is her first link party! Go give her some love!

Ballet slipper pink pair of night stands

I have started these cute little nightstands. I acquired them at different spots and months apart but almost a perfect match. They are getting painted in my homemade chalk paint after mixing 3 different shades of pink to get the pale color I was dreaming of. So here is tonight's phase 1.

Little wood trunk

I love wood boxes, trunks, tool boxes. I just can't help myself. This little guy started out an army green. I primed him and then painted him in kitchen scale ever so lightly and watched the magic happen. He started to flake on the top where some oil bled through from his former life. I then gently sanded, waxed and buffed him. I'm in love. He is for sale for 35.00.

Emmaline

My newest diamond in the rough. She was one piece but upon attempting to get her up the basement stairs she got stuck at the top. She was pinned good. They thought they were gonna sledge hammer her.  No way! They ended up sawing her in two while she was stuck. Needless to say she came out pretty butchered but I still love her. My handy hunky worked on her and got her as straight as possible. She is still getting more work but here she is in her before state.
